1，当先行词指人或指物时，eg;they  talk  about   the   men    and   the   things   that   they  saw
2.当主句以who或which开头时，eg；which  is   the   hotel   that   he   stayed   at   last   night.当句子中hotel 后接逗号或句子中有介词时，不用that
3，先行词作主句的表语时，eg;china   isn't   the   country   （that)  it   used   to   be
4, 主句时there  be句型时，eg;there  is   a   table   in  the   corner   that   is   folded    away
